Sandra Shore

Director – St. Louis Downtown Airport

Sandra Shore is the Airport Director for St. Louis Downtown Airport, located on 1,000 acres in Cahokia Heights and Sauget, Illinois. She assumed the role as Airport Director in February 2022 and is responsible for the employees and operations of St. Louis Downtown Airport, and managing the real estate and economic development opportunities of the third busiest airport in Illinois. The airport contributes more than $422 million in annual economic benefits to the local economy.

Shore previously served as Airport Director for four years at Quincy Regional Airport in Quincy, Illinois. As Airport Director at Quincy Regional Airport, Shore managed more than $7 million in federal airport improvement funding, secured an additional $18 million in funding and programmed another $17 million in future airport funding. Prior to that role, Shore was the airport manager at Floyd W. Jones Lebanon Airport in Lebanon, Missouri. Her experience and expertise ranges from general aviation and fixed-based operations to Part 139 certified air service airports. 

Shore holds a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, with minor studies in Airport Management and Planning. Shore is a member of the executive committee for the Illinois Public Airport Association, serves as Vice Chair of the Illinois Airports Council, is an Airport Certified Employee (ACE) in security, and is an Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E) with the American Association of Airport Executives.

Outside of her aviation duties, Sandy and her husband Ben love to cheer on all the St. Louis sports teams, including being City Founders of the St. Louis CITY SC. They look forward to cheering on the new soccer team from the supporters section.
