To help meet the needs of its customer base in St. Clair County, St. Clair County Transit District (SCCTD) in collaboration with Metro Transit made a series of service and schedule adjustments to local MetroBus routes in mid-March. These changes included the launch of the #3 Sauget – Water Street, a new MetroBus route providing direct, all-day service to Sauget Industrial Park from the 5th & Missouri Transit Center in East St. Louis.

“We are very excited to add a new MetroBus route for ridership in St. Clair County,” said Herb Simmons, Chair of St. Clair County Transit District’s Board of Trustees. “We understand the importance of helping people get where they need and want to go and are thrilled to be able to provide individuals on both sides of the river with convenient access to the more than 20 businesses in the Sauget Industrial Park.”

St. Louis Downtown Airport is one of the businesses operating within the Sauget Industrial Park. The airport’s parent organization, Bi-State Development, also operates Metro Transit, the main public transportation system for the region. Metro Transit is contracted by St. Clair County Transit District to provide MetroBus service in the county.

“We are excited about the launch of the new route that now serves multiple growing businesses that already have a significant number of employees across the business park,” said Taulby Roach, President and CEO of Bi-State Development. “Reliable, affordable, convenient public is essential to meet the needs of these high employment centers, and this new route improves on-time performance and MetroBus/MetroLink connections, while providing service to new areas of St. Clair County.”

Schedule information for the #3 Sauget – Water Street bus route and other MetroBus routes is available online.
